Provincial Nominee Program
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a way for different provinces and territories to choose foreign workers and entrepreneurs who match their specific needs. These selected people can then become permanent residents of Canada.
Here's how it works:
Who Can Apply: Each province and territory has its own rules for who they want to nominate. They look for people with certain skills, work experience, or links to that area.
Express Entry and Non-Express Entry: Some PNPs are linked to the federal Express Entry system, while others have their own separate rules. If you're chosen through a PNP, you might get extra points if you're also in the Express Entry pool.
Nomination Certificate: If a province or territory picks you, they'll give you a special paper called a Provincial Nomination Certificate. This certificate lets you apply for permanent residency.
The Provincial Nominee Program is a great option if you want to live in a specific province or territory in Canada and you have the right skills or connections that match what that place needs.
