Express Entry
Express Entry is a points-based immigration system focused on selecting skilled workers for permanent residency. Its goal is to attract highly qualified individuals who can make valuable contributions to Canada's economy and society.
To qualify for Express Entry, candidates must meet the requirements of one of the three federal economic immigration programs:
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP): Designed for skilled workers with foreign work experience in managerial, professional, or technical roles.
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP): Targeted at skilled tradespersons with recent experience in a skilled trade.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC): Intended for individuals with at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada.
In the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), candidates are given a score based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language skills, and adaptability. This score determines their position in the Express Entry pool.
The Canadian government regularly invites candidates with the highest CRS scores in Express Entry draws to apply for permanent residency. If you get an Invitation to Apply (ITA), you have around 60 days to submit your permanent residence application.
